Getting pumped for a workout is always a challenge. The newest barrage of teenyboppers trying to pass their music off as rock and roll aren't making it any easier. Here are five songs to revive rock and roll and give you that extra push you need to make it to the gym.

1. "Johnny B. Goode," by Chuck Berry.
One of rock's originals. So fast paced and upbeat that it's difficult to stay off your feet when this jam comes on.

2. "Like a Rolling Stone," by Bob Dylan.
Mentally stimulating, this classic tune is the perfect kickboxing jam for when you're feeling especially energetic and the punching bag starts to resemble your ex.

3. "White Room," by Cream.
Getting lost in a good rock song is a beautiful experience. It's even more enjoyable when you're trying to forget the fact that your abs are burning. A spirited Eric Clapton belts out mesmerizing lyrics on this iconic track.

4. "American Pie," by Don McClean.
Starts off slow, but picks up the pacejust like you should be doing on a run. An eight minute long celebration of American culture, and the ideal distraction from how tired you are on your workout's finishing stretch.

5. "Sugar Magnolia," by the Grateful Dead.
Start your post-workout chill session with this melodic, pleasant song by one of America's greatest contributions to rock and roll. Jerry Garcia crooning in your ears after a serious sweat fest will be the perfect way to close your day.
