Diplomas from 2007 Discovered in Basement Storeroom
Monday, October 11th, 2010
A staff member in the registrars office finally found a box of 50 diplomas from May 2007 that had never been sent out to graduates. They had been sitting in a storeroom for three years.
Forty of the alumni promptly notified the registrar’s office years ago and received reprinted diplomas almost immediately. Ten alumni, however, waited three years to finally get their diploma.
Peter Taback, senior press officer for The New School, said that once the box was found, all were promptly sent to their respective graduate.
The person who was charged with sending the diplomas out left the university two years ago and was therefore unable to be reached for comment.
According to Taback, this is an isolated incident and he assured that it won’t happen again.
